Death Cab For Cuite on the New Moon Soundtrack!

It's been confirmed, Death Cab for Cutie's new song, to be released September 13th, will be on the New Moon Soundtrack. MTV and Summit both confirmed it today, that the song Meet Me on the Equinox will be on the New Moon Soundtrack.

In an exclusive interview with MTV News, DCFC bassist Nick Harmer talked about the song — which will be the lead single from the second film in the “Twilight” series — and the mysterious way it ended up on the most-anticipated soundtrack of the year.

“We didn’t expect it would be chosen for the first single — we were thinking it would be a part of the soundtrack, maybe,” Harmer laughed. “I have no idea if [’Twilight’ author] Stephenie Meyer approved it or what. It’s been an exciting process, because we’ve been so removed from it. We were in L.A. for a week and we went into the studio and wrote and recorded the song and submitted it. We didn’t know where anything stood, and then we just got a call last week like, ‘Guess what — your song has been chosen as the first single.’ ”

Harmer is the first to admit that Death Cab and “Twilight” seem like an unusual pairing (only guitarist/producer Chris Walla has read the entire series), but upon closer inspection, they actually have plenty in common: most of which has to do with geography and, of course, matters of the heart.

“The big connection for us is ‘Here’s a wildly popular book series about vampires — which are awesome — set in the Northwest,’ and we happen to be from the Northwest as well, so there’s this sort of hometown pride kind of thing going on,” Harmer said. “I’m kind of happy that Stephenie Meyer put Forks, Washington, on the map for the entire globe.

“I think that a lot of our songs in general concern a lot of the things the main characters in the books are going through: There’s a lot of stuff about relationships beginning and ending, and the questioning that happens around being in love and falling out of love,” he continued. “That’s a comfort zone for us, so a lot of the lyrical content [frontman] Ben [Gibbard] writes also happens to line up with what the characters are going through in the film. Basically the ‘Twilight’ series is about love, and that’s a major theme for us. So, it wasn’t difficult for us at all.”

As for the song itself, Harmer describes it as “pretty dark and brooding, lyrically,” and though it was written specifically for the “New Moon” film, don’t expect it to vary much from the Death Cab formula.

“I’m pretty sure Ben didn’t try to write a song from the perspective of one of the characters from the novel. The emotional stuff is what he homed in on, because that’s what we do,” he said. “It’s an uptempo song … it fits right into the Death Cab canon. The lyrics are darker and brooding, the music is a little more up. I don’t know if it’s a rock song … when you hear it, you’ll think, ‘Yep, that’s a Death Cab song.’ ”

Since acquiring Alec and Jane, the Volturi have seldom needed to fight - their victims are simply slaughtered.

Caius was born around 1300 BC, though the date of his transformation and his special powers are unknown. But we do know that he really, really wants to kill Bella, Edward, and Alice. And we're not going to lie, he looks pretty good for a 3,300-year-old.

He makes Edward and Alice promise to change Bella soon.

What are your opinions on the Volturi? Is this how you imagined them, are you disappointed by anything? My opinions? I think they are really amazing, but I'm disappointed by the fast that they couldn't have died Dakota's hair or she couldn't of worn a wig, because Jane wasn't blonde, and I wish that Caius's hair was more white, not blonde. Other than that I think its really good.

Eclipse Set Update!

Lainey Gossip has pictures and news about Eclipse filming last night. Apparently they were filming a scene between Victoria and Riley, Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel. Here is Lainey's article.

"Last night the Twilight Eclipse crew was back to work shooting under a bridge a “Seattle” scene with Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel as “Victoria and Riley”. Victoria seduces Riley so that he’ll carry out her orders to make new vampires. As you can see, they’ve wigged out Bryce’s hair to resemble Rachelle Lefevre’s."

New from The Eclipse Set!

Right here, I have news and pictures from the Eclipse Set in Langley, BC.

The set was on Old Yale Road in Langley. TSE was not the code for Eclipse, we followed a sign that said IPL.

We had seen the IPL sign earlier, not knowing they were filming Eclipse in Langley, and we made up our silly names for what it stood for (International Police Lounge :P) Later when we found out they were filming here and we decided to drive around aimlessly until we found it and we decided to follow the IPL sign, which directed us to the set.

First, my family and friends got there around 9:00 pm, by then it was pretty much dark, all you could see were some large trucks, and a big red barn. (Barn??)

Sorry it's so dark, we weren't allowed flash.

Soon the moved a large green screen so it was facing the barn and also some huge lights shining into the barn from both sides.

In the meantime cars were going in and out, in and out.

Around 11:00 am, a security guard came out and told us that the last two cars that left were carrying the stars and that they were gone and not filming anymore, which we all took as a lie.

They again moved the green screen farther back.

I left regretfully at 12:30, having seen nothing and feeling as though they may be telling the truth and we wouldn't see any stars tonight.

They're weren't very many people at the set. A bunch of teenage girls with they're friends or friends. Maybe 60 at the most.

Happy Birthday Breaking Dawn!

It's hard to believe but exactly one year ago, Breaking Dawn, the end of the Twilight Saga, was released. Breaking Dawn sold over 3.7 million copies in the early hours of the morning, breaking records for the Hatchette Book Group.Since the release, Breaking Dawn has won awards such as "Children's Book of the Year". It may have been the end of the Saga, but it was a great way to end the Saga, and we'll always appreciate Stephenie Meyer's work. Happy Birthday Breaking Dawn!
